Confidential information from your medical records can be used by the NHS to improve the services offered so we can provide the best possible care for everyone.
This information along with your postcode and NHS number but not your name, are sent to a secure system where it can be linked with other health information.
This allows those planning NHS services or carrying out medical research to use information from different parts of the NHS in a way which does not identify you.
You have a choice. if you are happy for your information to be used in this way you do not have to do anything. If you have any concerns or wish to prevent this from happening, please speak to practice staff or ask at reception for a copy of the leaflet "How information about you helps us to provide better care".

Cervical Screening
Ladies please check with reception if your smear is due. Every year in the UK, over 3000 women will be diagnosed with cervical cancer and almost 1000 women will die from the disease.
Shingles Vaccine
If you are aged 70, 78 or 79 please check with reception if you are a due your shingles vaccination.
Going to university?
If you are between the age of 18 - 24 please check with reception that you have had two doses of MMR before going to university.
Watch out measles about!
Measles is a highly infectious viral illness. It can be very unpleasant and possibly lead to serious complications, including blindness and even death. We recommend that everyone over 12 months of age has the MMR vaccine. it is never too late to receive it. If you are not sure whether you or your children need the MMR vaccine please talk to your doctor, nurse or health visitor.
